Mother testifies against man accused of raping daughter

The mother of a child who was raped two years ago, when she was 8, testified Wednesday that her daughter is now scared of all men and has acted like she wants to die.
Prosecutors also made their opening statement in the rape and kidnapping trial of Brandon Brixey of Tulsa, who is accused of abducting three sleeping children and repeatedly raping one of them.
Brixey is accused of stealing a van occupied by the three children, who were 1, 3 and 8 at the time, from outside an all-night tanning salon in June 2008. Authorities allege that he raped the older child inside the van twice before leading police on a high-speed chase.
Brixey’s public defender didn’t present an opening statement but has the option of making one later in the trial.
