Man admits to murdering girlfriend, children
Shane Kettner, 36, of Nelsonville enters a guilty plea Wednesday in Portage County Circuit Court to charges that he killed his girlfriend and two of their three children.
STEVENS POINT — A 36-year-old Nelsonville man admitted Wednesday to killing his girlfriend and two of their children.
While wiping his eyes and trembling, Shane Kettner, barely able to speak, pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and one count of first-degree reckless homicide.
Kettner was scheduled to go on trial in June for the deaths of Christine Gollon, 30; Ashley Kettner, 3; and Griffin Kettner, 2. They were found dead April 30 in their Nelsonville home.
Kettner will be sentenced May 26. He faces life in prison in his children’s deaths and up to 60 years in Gollon’s death.
