BOSTON–Firefighter charged with child rape
Prosecutors may add new charge

WORCESTER - Worcester Firefighter Jeremy E. O’Connell was ordered held on $35,000 bail yesterday during his arraignment on a child-rape charge. Prosecutors said O’Connell may face another charge.
O’Connell, 34, was arrested Wednesday by Detective Laura J. Laliberte. He was charged with one count of rape of a child with force and open and gross lewdness. He was arraigned in Central District Court in Worcester.
Looking somber and wearing what appeared to be Fire Department-issue pants, O’Connell said little during his brief court appearance. A not-guilty plea was entered.
