TX: ‘CHILD ABUSE’: Father Arrested for Beating 15-year-old

EL PASO COUNTY – A father has been charged with First Degree Assault and Felony Child Abuse after the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says he beat his son.
On January 3, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report of a 15-year-old boy having been severely beaten with a blunt object by his father, 39-year-old Jeremiah Lovato.
Lovato was subsequently arrested and charged with First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Felony Child Abuse and Menacing and taken to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center where he is being held on a $250,000.00 bond.
The defendant has no other children. The investigation is ongoing and detectives are working closely with the Department of Human Services.
