The investigation findings, released by Commissioner Richard J. Condon, revealed that Quintin Cedeno, the principal assigned to the High School for Construction Trades, Engineering and Architecture, asked for oral sex from at least four male students.
Cedeno is also accused of touching and attempting to touch the victims as well as other students, on their genitals.
The principal also engaged in electronic communications and had inappropriate conversations with at least eight male students, officials said.
According to the Department of Education, Cedeno was reassigned in October 2009 when the disturbing allegations first surfaced. “[He] will not be returning to the classroom. We are initiating termination proceedings,” DOE officials said.
The investigation findings were forwarded to Queens County District Attorney Richard A. Brown for possible criminal prosecution, officials said.
It’s unclear if Cedeno will be charged.
Phone calls to school officials at CTEA were not immediately returned.
Cedeno began working for the NYC Department of Education in September 2003 as a math teacher at Transit Tech Career and Technical Educational High School in Brooklyn.
In 2004, he was appointed as an Assistant Principal at Automotive HS, also in Brooklyn. Cedeno went on to become Principal of CTEA in February 2007.
His current salary is $140,074.
