She was transported to Levine’s Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, where she died.

Sweatt, who lived with the child, is accused of inflicting injury on the child that caused her death, Hoffman said. Hoffman referred questions about the girl’s injuries to the York County Coroner’s office, which handled the autopsy.

York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said she is waiting on the results of tests performed at the autopsy before determining a cause of death for the child.

These tests, which include toxicology, could take four to six weeks.

She declined to comment on whether there were visible injuries to the child.

Sweatt was denied bond.
