WILMINGTON, Del. (AP)- A Delaware judge accused in two civil lawsuits of sexually abusing two young boys in the 1970s has resigned from the bench.
Court of Common Pleas Judge William C. Bradley Jr. submitted his resignation, effective immediately, on Friday. The 71-year-old Bradley has served since 1976 and his term was not due to expire until 2014.
Two suits have been filed against Bradley. One, by Gregory Kelly of Las Vegas, alleges that Bradley forcibly fondled him during a sleepover visit over two nights at Bradley’s Delaware home in 1975, when Kelly was 11.
The second, filed by a John Doe, forcibly fondled him twice between 1968 and 1971 when Doe was a child.
Bradley has denied the allegations.
