Milwaukee, WI – An unnamed 1st-grade teacher at Congress Elementary School in Milwaukee was given a $175 citation after she cut a 7-year-old girls’ braids off because she was playing with them in class.
According to investigators, 7-year-old Lamya Cammon was playing with her beaded braids when her teacher called her up to the front of the class and then cut off one of her braids in front of other students.
The girl reportedly walked back to her desk and started crying as her peers laughed. That’s when the teacher allegedly asked the girl “Now what you gonna go home and say to your momma?”
