The trial for Rockie King is scheduled for May 12th & 13th in 4th Judicial District Court.

The trial for Rockie King is scheduled for May 12th & 13th in 4th Judicial District Court.

35-year-old Rockie King recently pled not-guilty to charges of aggravated assault and battery and child abuse. He now faces two more misdemeanor counts since being incarcerated. Prosecutors have added property destruction and violation of a protection order to King’s list of infractions. King allegedly became violent in jail and his outburst led to the property destruction charge.

King also allegedly attempted to contact his wife from the telephone in the Sheridan County Detention Center. During his initial appearance on the protection order charge, Judge Sampson reminded King that he is under a no-contact order whether he is in jail or not. Sampson ordered an additional $10,000 cash only bond. King is in jail awaiting his district court trial in the child abuse case. That trial is scheduled for next May.

In other court news, a motion hearing for the two minor defendants in the Ernst murder case was postponed in 4th Judicial District Court yesterday. Judge Sullins from Casper was due to hear arguments on the motion to move the trials for 16-year-old Wyatt Bear Cloud and 16-year-old Dharminder Vir Sen into juvenile court.

District Court Judge John Fenn asked Sullins to rule on the motion so that Fenn could remain the presiding judge in the case should it go to trial in adult court. All three defendants in that case are scheduled for trial in March, 2010.
