The Sparks Police Department has released a sketch of the man it believes is stalking a 12-year-old girl, ordering her to get into his van.

His hair is now described as short and not collar-length; he has a circular scar on his lower left cheek the size of a dime and has a birthmark or mole next to the outside of his right eye.

Police said as the girl walked to school about 7:15 a.m. Oct. 14 in the 700 block of 7th Street, the van pulled alongside her. The driver asked her to get inside so he could take her to school. She refused, which angered the driver, who again insisted she get inside. When she refused again, he drove away.

About a week later, the girl was approached by the same man as she walked to school in the 500 block of E Street. As he drove away, he told her he would find her again.

About 6:50 p.m. Nov. 1, the girl was walking n the 1100 block of Prater Way when the man approached her again and said he knew he would find her. The girl ran home to report the incident.

The original description released by the police is that the man is white, 38 to 40 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches, about 220 to 230 pounds with brown hair and a goatee. He wore blue sunglasses and a dark ball cap.

His white cargo van with Nevada “sunset” license plates had three unknown letters, the letter “F” and two other unknown letters. The right side of the van has primer near the middle. The left rear has minor collision damage and the left tail light is smashed. No side windows were visible in addition to a darkly tinted small square window on the left rear. On the rear bumper, a rectangular sticker features white writing.

The rims are dirty silver. The interior of the vehicle is dark with a brown dash cover. The rear of the vehicle has two doors with two horizontal handles painted white. The driver and passenger doors have horizontal handles that are silver. The front and rear bumpers are silver. And the tires are worn out.
