Man–kidnapped & raped 3-year-old in store
Man charged with kidnapping 3-year-old in store
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Nashville man faces a felony charge of especially aggravated kidnapping after police said he grabbed a young girl and sexually assaulted her in a store bathroom.
According to the arrest warrant, on September 28, Diego Armando Rosales entered the Music City Thrift Store on Nolensville Pike, grabbed a three-year-old and carried her, against her will, into the restroom.
Video surveillance shows the suspect run out about 20 seconds later.
“The guy that took her in there, came out and she came out right behind [him], crying and screaming,” store employee April Cartwright told News 2.
The little girl was yelling “pee, pee” in Spanish as she ran out and told her guardian that Rosales sexually assaulted her, according to the warrant.
Rosales is shown on surveillance trying to leave the store, but was apprehended by a customer.
“I think it is great to know that there is still courage and a sense of community in our culture,” said Cartwright, who has two children of her own.
She said she is thankful Rosales has been caught.
“I feel a lot better knowing that the gentleman was caught and is behind bars,” she continued. “I have two children and I’m sure anyone with children is happy to know that.”
Police said neither the victim nor her guardian knows Rosales.
