DREAMCATCHERS FOR ABUSED CHILDREN: 1st Annual Easter Basket Drive
EASTER BASKET DONATIONS NEEDED
It is our goal to serve neglected and abused children by providing them with the joy of having a special Easter Basket made just for them. We are aiming to provide these baskets to children from the birth to 17-years old. We will be collecting items for Dreamcatchers for Abused Children to make Easter Baskets for children in need.
…You can help in several ways:
* Donating items to go into the baskets
* Making a monetary donation to DFAC designated for Easter Baskets
* Easter baskets or plastic buckets
* Easter grass
* Plastic eggs
* Wrapped candy or Fruit Snacks
* Age appropriate item/trinket/toy
* Small stuffed animals or books
Ideas for Age Appropriate Items:
Crayons, markers, colored pencils and coloring books, small cars, arts and crafts kits, sidewalk chalk, jewelry, gift cards, makeup, purses, manicure sets, jewelry, body sprays, combs & bushes, toothbrushes, bubble bath, small walkmans or CD players, watches, jump ropes, bubbles, bottles and blankets, dress up items, small games or flash cards, decks of cards, silly putty, playdough, sports balls, Small Cars and Trucks ~ Matchbox/Hot Wheels size, fragrances/cosmetics/hair supplies for the teens, etc.
This is a great project for kids of all ages to participate in–gather a group of friends, co-workers, church members or even scouts together to make baskets as a fun and meaningful way to help others.

Thank you to all our wonderful sponsors & donors—Because of you we ended up with 62 Easter Baskets for abused & homeless children. They will be delivered on Friday by our Event Coordinator, Sierra Sullivan, to the three shelters in St. Clair County, MI. By the time you finish reading this, 15 children will have been abused; In the next five minutes, 30 more; Within the next hour, 360 more; And by tonight, close to 8,000+ children will have suffered from abuse, 5 of which will die. Child abuse has increased 134% since 1980 and is now considered a worldwide epidemic. The high jump in child abuse deaths and the shocking increase in statistics highlights the frightening lack of public knowledge.
