‘One of the Worst’ Child Molesters gets 25-Yr Sentence

A South Jersey man, charged in attempting to meet a woman in order to have sex with a toddler, was sentenced in federal court Monday to 25 years in prison. John Desper, 42, pleaded guilty in February to charges of attempting to coerce a minor to engage in sexual activity and for traveling to engage in sex acts with a minor. He also pleaded guilty to multiple child pornography counts. Desper, a former 911 emergency dispatcher for Gloucester County, previously served five years in New Jersey state prison for endangering the welfare of child after authorities discovered graphic child porn on his computer at work.
